We were discussing the perks of owning a private business, and my friend had this to say.

So on the 26th I had to reformat my computer because of difficulties, and for the past three days I’ve tried contacting my computer’s support staff to help me get my computer back up in tip-top shape. So I sent an e-mail to the support team:

I recently partitioned my hard drive so I could install Kubuntu Linux as a dual boot with Windows XP. The installation didn’t go as planned, and it’s left me wondering how to remove Linux. I have the 6 recovery CDs that came with the computer, and I was wondering if I format my hard drive completely (all partitions) if using the recovery CDs will reinstall Windows XP as well?

Then today I finally got an e-mail back. I was very happy to of heard from them after such a long wait. So I gleefully open up the e-mail, expecting support with would be beneficial to me in any way, shape, or form. This is the response I get:

Acer does not support or advocate dual boot systems therefore we are unable to provide information or instructions on how to set up a dual boot system. I’m sorry I am unable to assist with this issue. You can try these drivers, if they did not work, Acer America will not be able to guarantee compatibility.

Thanks for the canned answer, jerks.

If a real person had actually taken the time to read my e-mail, they’d of realized that I was asking how to remove Linux. This is dealing with partitioning and general hard drive advice plus what their recovery CDs actually recover. See when they said, “…You can try these drivers, if they did not work, Acer America will not be able to guarantee compatibility.”? They didn’t provide any links to drivers in the e-mail.

Companies: Hire competent support staff who will answer your paying customer’s questions correctly. No more keyword filters.

So after that little rant, I’d just like to say that updates won’t be as often because I don’t know when I’ll be reformatting this pc again. Sorry everyone!

I’m also going to be running a week long marathon of crazy solos on various instruments. I’ll post one great solo a day, for one week. I’m not sure when, probably sometime next week. So if you find a solo which you think is pretty good, send it in!
